The School Nurses belong to Cornwall Council Children’s Community Health Services working alongside other Public Health Nurses such as the Health Visiting Team. The School Nursing service offers parents/carers the opportunity for their child to have a health review during Reception Year and Year 6 at school. They also offer additional School Nurse Health Assessments throughout your child’s school years via the Early Help Hub.
The School Nursing team provides confidential support and advice that promotes the best possible health and educational outcomes for your child.
The School Nursing team can support you with children’s physical and emotional health. For example, they can help you if you have concerns about your child's behaviour or continence problems (night and day time wetting) keeping a healthy weight, healthy eating and lifestyle, and supporting their health needs in school. They support you alongside other professionals such as family workers, speech and language, emotional well-being professionals, school SEN staff.
