Let's Get Healthier Together
We are working with our partners in the NHS and other local organisations on a new health and wellbeing campaign called ‘Healthier Together’. We'll be providing advice and information about how you can make small changes in your daily life that will have a big impact on your future health and well being.

Summer wellbeing festivals
As part of our campaign, we’re running free Summer Wellbeing Festivals so why not attend one happening close to you:
- Hayle Recreation Ground - Saturday 14 September, 2pm-5pm
- Basset Centre, Camborne - Saturday 14 September, 9.30am-12.30pm
- Newquay Orchard - Saturday 21 September, 10am-3pm
CHAOS Radio will be live at some of the events and will have roving teams out and about at others, bringing all the fun of the festivals to their shows on the day.
The free festival events will offer you the chance to find out about the 5 themes of the Healthier Together campaign:
- Get checked: offering health checks and advice from the NHS
- Eat well: information about eating a balanced diet
- Move more: taster sessions and advice from Healthy Cornwall and friends
- Try new things: learn new skills and find out about volunteering with Volunteer Cornwall
- Be kind: look after your mental health with NHS Talking Therapies and local support groups
We look forward to seeing you there!

Julie Baldwin, Projects and Events Officer for Hayle Town Council says:
"It’s so important for people to come along because connecting with others and trying new activities can have a huge impact on both mental and physical wellbeing. Our festival offers a welcoming space for everyone to explore new opportunities, build community connections, and discover resources that can support a healthier, happier life.”

“We are excited to host our first health and wellbeing festival in Camborne. There are lots of ways we can look after ourselves and improve our health and wellbeing, and I’m looking forward to this chance to do so.
“This is also a good opportunity to say goodbye to the Basset Centre as we know it, before it is refurbished into a beautiful community hub. We think this is the perfect event to say farewell, and we look forward to welcoming our community on 14 September to enjoy a fun, free family event!”

Join us at our annual fayre, this year in collaboration with NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly adding a focus of health and wellbeing.
In a celebration of Newquay Orchard as a beautiful 7-acre green space for everyone, and the activities and support we offer, the event brings together the absolute best of our community. You’ll find a great mix from workshops, games, crafts, activities, entertainment and incredible food to market stalls, bio-blitzing, mermaids and more!
Come and have some fun. Enjoy the food and drink. Dance, laugh, chat, tell your friends! Parking is limited so we recommend that visitors walk, cycle, scoot, skateboard, hop, skip or jump wherever possible.
Jenny Hindson, Chief Operating Officer at Newquay Orchard says:
“This is a chance to showcase the amazing community space that has been built by our wonderful volunteers for our community, who can find out about the support we provide to promote learning, health and wellbeing for everyone. We’re so excited to see you there.”
