Further Information:

Do you consult with pupils and parents about physical activity and PE in schools to better understand their wants, needs and barriers to movement

  • Student voice is about actively seeking the views of young people to understand their experiences and perspectives and involving them meaningfully in making and enacting decisions about topics that affect them.
Helpful Resources:

young girl in wheelchair with a basketball, text reads "street games - 1000 young voices" two children holding sports ball smile at camera, text reads "youth sport trust - youth voice resources" several people with hands in the middle of a huddle, some of which have disabilities, text reads "activity alliance - inclusive education hub"

Resources around cultivating intuitive movement – can you link with other lessons to talk about how being physically active is good for mind and body (social emotional and physical)?

  • Intuitive movement links mind and body and focuses on how the physical activity makes children feel, it is centred around finding happiness and joy in movement.
  • Each child/person will enjoy different activities, they should be encouraged and supported to find what they enjoy.
