Connect 5 - to improve everyone's mental wellbeing by changing the way we have conversations about mental wellbeing:
Module 1
The intended outcome of Module 1 is to provide you with evidence-based models and tools to use in everyday conversations so you can take action to support your own and others wellbeing.
The purpose of this Module is to:
- Be able to use public mental health models to provide insight into mental
wellbeing and understand what we can do to better promote and protect it - Describe and apply the skills to have a connected conversation
- Locate mental wellbeing services and resources in your area
Module 2
Module 2, moves on from the knowledge and skills for having brief conversations about mental wellbeing into the practical knowledge and applied skills needed for a brief mental wellbeing intervention. The aim of Module 2 is to use the 5 Areas Model combined with a connected conversation to provide a brief structured intervention to help a person understand their feelings and what they need to do to feel better.
The purpose of this Module is to:
- Be able to use the 5 Areas Model within a connected conversation
- Know when a person needs more than self-help (including people having
thoughts of suicide) - Locate local mental health and wellbeing services and resources in your area
Module 3
Module 3 furthers the knowledge and skills developed in Modules 1 & 2. This module focusses on the tools and skills to motivate and support people to take action to build and maintain their mental well-being.
Module 1 & 2 provide insight into what needs to change, Module 3 supports a person to find ways to make that change.
Delivery:
This training can be delivered in a physical or digital classroom over 3 x 3 hour sessions.
